No they are not "about the same size". The Caravan engine probably a 2.4 or 2.5 liter, or rather dramatically larger than your Civic's puny 1.5 liter motor. You'd be lucky to have enough torque to get the thing out of your driveway if you finish.

hahaha, with a little engineering anything is possible my friend, it's just a matter of getting everything situated in the right spot, you're probably gonna need engine mounts that you can't buy anywhere, find a REALLY good welder. if it's a weak weld you're engine's gonna fall through the car or somesuch. really i say it's not worth it ^_^ go to pick n' pull pull an engine fix it up and throw it in the van. also, it's scary that there's a 4 cyl engine in a van!!! what does it do? 0-60 about 4 minutes? :-p i hope it all comes out alright, good luck

you have to have the transmission from the honda engine aswell, make sure if the van was a manual then get a manual tranny, if it was auto, get an auto tranny. thats the least of your worries, the van is forward wheel drive so its not gonna be that bad, only problem is you probably wont have power steering seeing as how the swap would probably take alot of space, not to mention the engine your putting in isnt made for vans, also youll need to buy engine mounts or fabricate you own ones which will run you about 300 bucks for all the mounts. youll also need the honda engines exhaust manifold and downpipe and see if it connects to the catylitic converter on the van. basically this isnt a normal job.

this isnt an answer, its another question.......WHY?!? the project youre approaching, as fruitless as it would be, is going to be too cost prohibitive for you to have anything to show for it other than the fact to say "i did it!"..unless you were dropping in a beefy V6 or a V8, its not worth it. thats like installing a lawnmower engine in a civic for the sake of saying you did it...

Wow! That's scary. That's a huge can of worms you're gonna open there. Much more trouble than it's worth!
