This could be due to infection of your uro genital tract. So what I suggest, is that don't listen to him and her, simply go to you gyno and take proper medication.......

You could very well have a yeast infection which itches really bad. There is some over the counter meds you can buy like a Monistat 7 pack as well as some feminine wipes you can buy. I would recommend that you not shave until this clears up. You may need to see a doctor for some oral pills of the over the counter meds do not work. Also, Try bathing frequently (two to three times a day) and letting the area dry out as much as possible. Yeast thrives in dark damp areas.

If it itches right after shaving, you have shaving irritation. if it itches as the hair is growing back and is about 1/4" long, that is just normal. BUT if you truly have skin hanging in strips or such, then the itch is from yeast. Candidiasis yeast to be specific! It can be increased or fed by perfumes, alcohol, soap, eating sugar/refined flour, caffeine, alcohol, mushrooms, pizza, etc.
If you use a shaving solution to shave, check to see if it has alcohol or perfume, etc in it. Chances are it is causing it.
Monistat is a great product from the drug store that works specifically for Candidiasis yeast! I dont use any other brand, not even the drug store version. THey just dont work for it, even with the same drug component in it.
Also, if you have sex and use any lubrication, that can ALSO cause this issue.
Yeast. Sure sounds like yeast! A Gynocologist can confirm it...but i have suffered and pretty badly before my GYN suggested Monistat to me!

The itchiness that you have going on could be a yeast infection but I would recommend that you see your dr to have them confirm or deny this before you go out and buy any kind of medication to treat possible yeast. I would in the mean time call your dr's office to ask what they suggest you do for the itching til you can get in to see them.

I'm going to assume it's on the outside cos there is nothing to shave on the inside - ingrown hairs maybe? And if you are shaving it could not be lice - cos you would see the crazy critters! Unless there is an STD I don't know about. Any other symptoms - discharge maybe?

You could have razor bumps or skin tags...as for the itch some vaginal cream like Miconazole nitrate might help or any vaginal cream for itching...also avoid using soap on this delicate skin until it heals. And you really should see your Doctor just to get a proper diagnosis.

I would DEFINITELY stop shaving and I would also see a doctor ASAP. Staying very clean is important in order to keep yourself healthy, for your entire body. GOOD LUCK!
