You would descend into a sleep-deprivation psychosis.
Extreme sleep deprivation can lead to a seemingly psychotic state of paranoia and hallucinations in otherwise healthy people.
Lack of sleep can result in:
Aching muscles
ADHD-like symptoms
Blurred vision
Clinical depression
Colorblindness
Daytime naps
Decreased mental activity
Decreased concentration
Decreased ability for the immune system to fight off sickness
Dizziness
Symptoms similar to those of acute ethanol intoxication
Dark circles under the eyes

General confusion
Hallucinations
Hand tremors
Headache
Hernia
Hyperactivity
Hypertension
Impatience
Irritability
Lucid dreams (once sleep resumes)
Memory lapses / memory loss
Nausea
Nystagmus (rapid involuntary rhythmic eye movement)
Psychosis
Pale skin tone (looking pasty)
Slowed reaction time
Slurred speech

I am an insomniac it is no fun. Your mind starts getting fuzzy but you don't realize it. Your muscles all hurt and burn like you have torn them. Your joints hurt, your immune system gets lowered so you are more prone to getting infections (colds, flu etc) Can't concentrate, muscle twitches, headaches. But the good news is you can not choose not to sleep eventually your body will shut down and force you to sleep. I have to take medication in order to sleep and even with that I only average 3 to 4 hours a day. Longest I have stayed up is 72 hours then I took my medication slept for 4 hours and was ready to go.

I know from not getting enough sleep myself somtimes, that you DO just fall asleep. Your body does it automatically. I'm not sure it's possible to naturally just choose to stay awake. And when you have been awake too long, you don't think straight, things start moving around and you lose coordination. Hence the whole 'driver fatigue' campaign the police have. People with no sleep get loopy!

Well, for one, you'll go crazy with every passing minute you stay awake. You'll hallucinate and start talking to inanimate objects. One way or another, you will hurt yourself. You'll find it hard to do simple tasks like standing up still. And you know the saying 'everybody needs their beauty sleep' right? Well, you'll be very unattractive. You'll just notice it when people just stare at you. You'll think 'What are they looking at? Is there something on my face?' And when somebody answers you, they'll say "Yeah, dude, your face!" So, please, do your self a favor and sleep regularly and stay attractive for everyone. Hope I helped you in some way!

Check out the movie called, "The Machinist" starring Christian Bale, and you will find out the answer. (he lost almost 70lbs for the role. he was skin and bones and looked like hell) (but it's a great movie.) You'd probably hallucinate, hear and see things that aren't there. Things would move in verrrry slow motion...you wouldn't want to eat. Not a pleasant state of mind.

You'll be constantly tired and nodding off. And you'll fall sleep eventually, of course. For the most part, the body knows not to let you kill yourself: if you don't do something you need to do, reflexes will eventually take over and make you do it.
