Yeah, unless i'm REALLY tired, i don't like sleeping in complete silence either! The silence is too 'loud' if you know what i mean? And i live in the Pilbara, so unless i have a fan on anyway, the air gets stuffy... need a fan... or airconditioner! Very, very important!

I sleep only 3 to 4 hours a day. Bed has to be made and all tucked in before I can get in it to mess it up. Closet door MUST be Closed. (You never know what lurks in the closet at night.) Television has to be on. All doors and windows closed so I don't hear those weird bug calls all night long. Ceiling fan on. No lights (just from the TV) Feet have to be covered. But can't wear socks. Have to sleep Au natural. And must take my Sleeping pill (trazadone) in order to get those 3 to 4 hours. So am I the weirdest!!!!

everything in my house has to be off, no t.v., no radios, no lights (except little light from an alarm clock or something), My bathroom door has to be shut and the closet door, but the bedroom door has to be open (i'd shut that too but i wouldn't hear my son that way, and i broke the latch a couple days ago). all the windows also stay shut and locked as do the main doors to my house. other than that, i'm good! lol. (open closet doors are creepy, huh?)

why do you feel it is weird/ it is what makes you comfortable.no one is alike. i have to have all doors open so i can hear whats going on in the rest of the house. i feel safer that way. i have been burglarized 3 times, twice while i was asleep and i feel this is why i cannot sleep in the dark.the light above my stove has to be on.the kitchen is central to the house and so it is dim enough with the door open in my bedroom to fall asleep and light enough that if i wake up i can see where i am going and whats around me.maybe you are a light sleeper and wake up from every little noise so the hum of the fan blocks out other noises that wake you up or scare you.maybe thats why you close the doors too.there is a reason.whatever it is, it is your reason whether you understand why you are like that or not.the way you are comfortable is they way you feel safe and the safety allows you to be able to sleep.it is not weird.its what makes you comfortable.

I'm the same as you with the fan, even in the coldest winter weather. It's hard to go on vacation and sleep in a silent room. My other weird sleeping habit is that I am a total night owl. The sun comes up then I go to bed. :)

I like the closet door and all doors/windows shut too...but complete silence, 1 floor level nightlight that does not shine directly on my eyes, and the sheets have to be smooth and well tucked.

I am very picky about things before I go to sleep. I like to have one of my cats with me. I need it to be mostly dark, but with a little light coming through my almost shut-but not all the way-door. The light in the hallway has to be turned off, but the bathroom light turned on, in case i have to go during the night. i can't sleep with socks on and i can't sleep on my back, i have to be on my side or my stomach.

ha there are a couple of my strange sleeping habits!

I sleep with some heavy metal albums on.

Megadeth-Rust in Peace
Iron Maiden-Number of the Beast
Metallica-Ride the Lightning
Slayer-Reign in Blood
Motley Crue-Motley Crue (The debut album)

I pump the volume up and sleep to the classics.
