I want to try a pesticide-free way of killing the few roaches that I found by my microwave. We have Argentine ants, and I was hoping they would eventually eat the roach's larvae, but that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon.

My SHOE!!!

But seriously, the house centipede eats a number of household pests. However, you might consider it to be a pest as well.

Or you can try the Vegas roach trap. Check my sources to get a link.

The cockroach goes back over five million years, you guessed it, they have no known predators and they have evolved through time the way they are, Their ancestors are the same as the are now.

If you've found some, you can count on this fact. For every one you found, there are ten more you haven't seen, so go by that rule of thumb and, they come out at night because they're eyes are light sensitive, so. You guessed it, get up some night and quickly turn on the light and count them, real fast because they're running for cover. Quickly now, how many, a dozen, twenty, a hundred.

Your going to have to bomb your place, and do it following the directions or have a professional do it for you.

Dish soap will kill most bugs including ants. They wont cross the barrier.
If you've seen a few roaches you have a bigger problem than you think and should be aggressive about it. For every one you see there are countless ones you dont. Roach poop can cause asthma in infants and children. They have also been known to crawl into sleeping children's ears.
I understand you dont have to be a dirty housekeeper; if the ground doesnt freeze in the winter months, then the roaches wont die. I think that you likely have roaches inside the shell of the microwave as it is warm and a source of food, but they like electronics also-phone, CD player...on.. Roaches eat most anything. I lived in FL and fought them in every apt I lived in. Moved into my house bringing them in w me in appliances etc. Bug bombs, constant spraying, eventually I was rid of them. Be aggressive. YOU should be the roach's natural enemy!
Good Luck.

I've heard that laundry borax mixed with sugar will take care of the roaches and ants, but it is toxic to children and pets so put it where they can't get to it.
Under the counters or under the microwave stand.

Try a size 9 boot or firm soled walking shoe
lower slowly on the unsuspecting bug and crush it.
If they are actually in the microwave just turn it on I would suggest for about 30 sec

IN THE MICROWAVE?COCKROACHES? AND YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT NATURAL PREDATORS?....libs

If you have a dirt floor and no plumbing don't worry about it-If you live in the civilized world where disease is not rampant you want to kill these any way you can,YES,even if you need to use a pesticide or get used to the way they taste.

Argentine ants to boot?-You best call an exterminator and maybe consider some better house keeping habits as I would not like you to live next door to me-even next hut down
