I am the angry and frustrated owner of a Motorola Surfboard cable modem.

Ive been able to go online maybe once a week for the last month and ive been wondering what the bleep is going on. there are 6 lights on the modem
1) Power
2) Recieve
3) Send
4) Online
5) PCactivity
6) Standby
What happens is that when ALL the lights are on I can connect to the internet but mostly numbers 1/2/3 and 6 stay on. Ive unplugged the modem and let it sit for a day and still nothing. The Power switch on this modem doesnt want to work for some reason. It may be a broken router but someone else mentioned it might be the cable wires...what do you all think?

When you have a good connection to the internet and you are plugged in from the computer then Lights 1,2,3 and 4 should be solid. The PC activity should be blinking at random intervals and the standby light should be of.

When you hit the standby button on the modem all the lights should go off and the standby light will be on solid.

If this does not happen then there is something wrong with your modem.
