Pads are the number 1 reason plumbers get called for toilet repairs. Not only are they made out of a thick layer of cotton (as many people have pointed out) but they have a plastic backing, which does not dissolve in water at all. Put those together, and you have a very large object that you are flushing, that will certainly clog your toilet. All you need to do is wrap it in TP and throw it away.

Just like toilet paper, in time the sewer line from your house to the street will have to be cleaned so be careful about anything even if it says it's ok (we tried flushable litter when we had our cat and that messed things up) but especially things like this that aren't meant to dissolve and will expand and block the line.

Paper towels shouldn't be put in the toilet either and neither should tampons. All eventually block the line and you end up with plumbing bills and a mess in the house when the toilet overflows.

They are not made to be flushed down the toilet. They will clog up the toilet. They are made to be thrown in the trash.

The things are made to absorb water...think of a sponge...when you add water it swells...and that will block up the toilet.

Which is gross. Not only do you have overflowing toilet, but you'll have to pull out that pad as well, because unlike OTHER things that clog up the toilet...they don't umm...come apart very well... and that's nasty.

They're not made for that. What you should do is take a piece of toilet paper, roll the pad up around it, and throw it away. The material is too thick - sewer systems can only dissolve so much - such as paper and baby wipes.

how old are you!?!

they will clog the toilet, and wont go down properly.

Pads and tampons consist of cotten wool which absorbs the menstrual blood and if its in the toilet it will expand to absorb the water and then wont be able to make its way through all the plumbing ...

also, pads have sticky backs and can stick to toher stuff making it even harder to get down the toilet ...

just wrap your pads and tampons in toilet paper and put them in the trash ... simple as that

DUH!
