I think it would be very wrong for a king, emperor, sultan, etc. to keep marrying woman after woman. It would be wrong to do to the rest of the male population. However, if he is the ruler, it should be his right to have multiple wives and concubines but I personally believe that it should be limited to 24. Since woman was formed from man's rib and a man has 24 ribs, then 24 wives should be max. What do you think?

Very logical, 24 is a good amount for a ruler, every rib that he has is a rib for each wives.

I don't think a ruler should have a harem. It's hard enough ruling a country, how in the world would he be able to keep up with all those women? Can you imagine the drama they would cause?

wow...your logic is undeniable...i just don't think concubines are fair period. it slike the loop hole to legally cheat or something...just seems wrong. besides that, most men might argue that one wife is enough to handle...i mean think of king solomon, he has over 300 wives and concubines...you know there was some extreme nagging going on there.

Just one wife. A father should look after his children. How can he do it when he has so many children needing his attention?
lncest can be a problem. King David had that problem when one of his sons took interest in a half-sister. Sibling rivalry is another headache.
