...I remember watching this one as a kid, at the local drive-in theatre, and paired up with 1969's "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed" (the broken water piping in the backyard, revealing a dead body buried in the garden, was particularly gruesome).
Anyways, the film YOU are describing, was my favorite of the Hammer/Christopher Lee 'Dracula' films, and in my opinion, the best (one of director Freddie Francis' greatest moments); that film is, of course, "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave", also from 1968.
The cowardly priest in the film, falls and busts his head open over the icy, watery grave of Dracula, trapped there, as a result of his death from the previous film, "Dracula, Prince of Darkness", where the Count falls through some ice, and into the supposed flowing river beneath (...remember, running water kills vampires!!); the priest actually does not die, but in the course of the film, becomes the Count's unwilling, albeit resigned slave.
The end of the film recalls gruesome and bloody images from the actual historical figure, from which Count Dracula was based, namely Vlad Tepes, the Impaler; at his castle, the Count is driven over a stone railing, falls into a crevice pit, and impales himself on a huge cross, previously thrown in there (when the cross is initially thrown in there, one could almost foresee ol' Drac's demise at the end).
...the Dracula movie that followed proved increasingly contrived and hokey (i.e., an unseen traveler witnesses Dracula's death on the cross, steals his ashes, revives him through a black mass ritual, and Presto....you have 1970's "Taste the Blood of Dracula"); actor Christopher Lee became increaingly disenchanted with the role, even refusing to speak about the character for the longest while. 1974's "The Satanic Rites of Dracula" was Lee's swan song to the character, wisely refusing be be involved in Hammer's last Dracula entry, 1974's "The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires", a mish mash of vampires, black mass and kung-fu fighters.

I believe what you've got there is "Dracula Has Risen From the Grave", one of the famous Hammer Films starring Christopher Lee as Dracula. This is the 3rd, and I think the best of the Hammer Dracula sequels. His glass coffin is actually ice. He was destroyed at the end of the second sequel by falling through the ice, and evidently floated downstream.
This idea is also used, along with some recycled footage, in "Taste The Blood of Dracula" another Hammer sequel, but that one didn't come out til 1970.

whatever I say, there'll be those who'll argue the point yet, that stated, right here is going: for most, the definative achieveable be the 1932 popular production, starring Bela Lugosi and,at the same time as it nevertheless has the powr to compel, this is the extent version and by no potential a literal translation. and then there become HAMMER: Hammer action pictures(alongside with this is 'sister organization,Amicus, did different surprising Dracula/vampire action pictures of all time. "The Horror Of Dracula"(1958)become the first version that hewed closley to Bram Stoker's artwork and the first to be shot in Technicolor. It turned right into a monster(no pun meant)hit and carry about an finished series of Dracula sequels that ended with "Seven Golden Vampires(the first kung fu vampire movie) yet therefore far,the great filming of "Dracula" become "Bram Stoker's Dracula"with the help of Francis Ford Coppolla. It held closest to the unconventional and had large production values, plus Gary Oldman's Dracula become fairly ascertain. And,the forged(Winona Rider,Anthony Hopkins,Billy Campbell and certain, even Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker(!!??) did properly with the help of the script.
