80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

While living we try to understand Meaning of our life. We get some thing in our mind and we think we are right. But before the sun set we change our thinking and again look for the Meaning of life. Every time we get some idea about life, before we fully understand we change our mind and again look for the right meaning. This search goes on and on until we reach the final seconds of our life and before we share our truly discovered meaning for life with others, our soul, by leaving the body, keeps it a secrete. The secrete dies with us. But others, with out knowing it, still search for the true meaning for life. The secrete could be a struggle, could be happiness, could be enjoyment, could be enlightening or it could be abould helping others. The secrete always remains a secrete.
This we call Life is all about Maya.In this world every thing is Maya. We believe in so many things, we dream to have so much of wealth and happiness, at the end, we poor soul, un able to take every thing with us. Our body gets buried, we don't know where the soul has gone, We don't know whether all the ability like speech, vision, sense, also accompanied our soul. It happens to every body born in this world, but nobody knows where the life has gone.
If you know where the life has gone, otherwise It will remain a secrete for ever.

"What is the meaning of life?" is probably the most-asked philosophical question by humanity at large, though we will probably never find the answer, for whatever reason. Common answers include: happiness or flourishing; love; compassion; pleasure; reproduction; power; 42; knowledge, understanding, or wisdom; and being blessed, or achieving union with God or the divine; or simply that there is no meaning to life.

Are you asking for purpose? or meaning. For many the purpose of life is to grow in compassion. This path gives context and meaning to life

i would assume the human meaning of life would be similar to that of any life on earth. which, more than likely would be to survive long enough to reproduce. that's the primordial answer.

the present day meaning would probably stray from that answer as millions of people choose not to have children and millions choose suicide. so, maybe it's all about choices?
