BABAR - a Sumerian name for the god the Babylonians called "Shamash" in their own language.

(The NORMAL Sumerian name is actually "UTU". I believe the name or title, BABAR, which otherwise means "light, bright, pure/clean", is only found in the city of Larsa, which had a temple called E.BABBBAR = 'house/temple of light/Babar ['the Bright One'?]')
