Does a human skin cell contain the same genetic information as a human brain cell? Explain your answer.

All human body cells with a nucleus have the same genetic information. All these cells were made by mitosis which gave each cell a complete set of chromosomes with all the person's DNA.

Yes. The theory of differential activation of genetic material explains this. To sum up. Some genes are expressed in brain cells that are not in skin cells and vise verse. Plus, these cells were differentiated when you were a becoming gastrula. Think stem cells.

Yes. All of the cells in your body have the same exact genetic information although having different structure and function. The difference arises from the ability to turn on and turn off certain genes. This turn on/turn off of function determining genes occurs during embryonic development and gives rise to differentiated cells.
