You sick SOB! I like you already. You should not be playing Monopoly, you should be playing Muchkins or Risk! You are my kind of player, Good Job! That said, I am sad to inform you that if you are to follow the rules the answer is... No you may not. But check this out you maniac; If you are about to pass thru the Green and Blue properties and they look like Las Vegas you may sell all your stuff Before you throw the dice and land on all of those for Any amount of mula. Did I just give a sicko a loaded gun? Anywho, in some cases though, you may be able to bride some other player into paying off your debt by selling him something or even promising him half of whatever money you make from your properties for say the next 5 to 10 turns. Have fun!

Well lets take a look at this a little more closely shall we? ok #1 is Paris Hilton..........need i say more? and #2 is Miley cyrus, i think she's just to young to even understand the rules of the game. #3 is Jessica Simpson whom just like paris hilton, would probably have a hard time opening the box to the game. now #4 Nick Jonas, i think he has a chance at winning but with all that long hair in his face how could he even see the game board? so he's definelty out. #5 would be brooke Hogan, Im pretty sure she would just cheat through the hole game and thats not winning so she's out too. ok on to #6 Tink Winky.......................What the hell is Tinky WInky? #7 Dennis Rodman, maybe back in the day he would have won a game of monopoloy but these days he's colored his hair way to many times, the dye from the color has poisened his brain he has no chance. and last but not least we have #8 a nice cool yummy frest Ham Sandwich.......I dont see any disqualifications to the ham sandwich so i would have to say that in a game of monopoly the Ham Sandwich would be the most likely canidate to win since its probably the smartest.

I am usually pretty laied back with the rules of Monopoly. As long as the other players confirm an "Ok" with the rules you apply then you should be able to do anything. Makes the game a little more fun, I say.

According to tournament rules, if you do not have enough money to pay the rent and cannot mortgage and sell enough to raise the rent then everything you have is turned over in the condition that it's in (unmortaged properties cannot be mortgaged first). Improvements must be sold to the bank at one half their value before the transaction occurs.
So, the answer to your question is no unless you can come up with everything you owe by doing so.

I found the following on a website
"Unimproved properties, railroads and utilities (but not buildings) may be sold to any player as a private transaction for any amount the owner can get. However, no property can be sold to another player if buildings are standing on any properties of that colour-group. Any buildings so located must be sold back to the Bank before the owner can sell any property of that colour-group.
Houses and Hotels may be sold back to the Bank at any time for one-half the price paid for them. All houses on one colour-group may be sold at once, or they may be sold one house at a time (one hotel equals five houses), evenly, in reverse of the manner in which they were erected."
This would lead me to believe that you are allowed to sell the property. In the past, though, the way we've played, it definitely had to be your turn to sell property, and in my opinion, it is no longer your turn if you have already rolled and moved your token. I think the transaction would have needed to take place before you rolled.

I've actually done that with Monopoly for Sega Genesis. {Yes, it's real old school}
When I and someone else play against the computer and one of us is about to go bankrupt, we'd sell the property to the other for a really low price, go bankrupt and totally stick it to...the computer.
Is that lame or what?

as long as you end up out of the game. No problem. But, the property is supposed to go to the highest bidder. So, the person you owe could bid as well and offer you more than anyone else, knowing it is coming to him, thus spiting you back.
