I did watch some of the classic 500's on one of the ESPN channels but I don't remember which of the 6 ESPN it was. But you are right they didn't show it them like they used to. I don't know whats up with the poker either.
ESPN was once the premiere race channel and if you can believe it Speed channel was too. To a point ESPN was drove out of the race televise business when NASCAR made there 6 billion dollar TV deal. Now that that 6 billion dollar mistake is over, ESPN will with out a doubt start there race production back in gear. Just give them time. I can't wait for it to happen. They were hands down much better at showing USA tracks of all sizes all types in all states than SPEED CHANNEL could have ever dreamed of doing.
It would be nice in the mean time to have SPEED start showing more races and less reality shows and old movies that have a car in them. And less NASCAR.

They show lots of other things on ESPN classic besides poker. Although i won't say poker is a sport, it does require a high degree of thought to be able to play it well. I was just watching Celtics vs Lakers the other day, so there is more then just poker on that network. It just sounds like you hate poker, and that's fine, but it gets huge ratings and ESPN has the contract for another few years so be ready for more poker on t.v.

Since when is POKER a sport anyway? I think whoever decided to put it on TV, on any channel, is an idiot because all it does is teach kids how to gamble, and that is WRONG!

I'm with you. They used to show lots of old races. They had a couple of old 500s scheduled this week but I don't know if they showed them. I guess maybe it's about commercials (money)?
