a power outage, spike, etc. a massive crash, or most likely if it is a game your playing...its the graphics card. The graphics card either has a problem with it, it is too weak for the game your playing, or possibly it could have gotten too hot from intense gaming that it shutdown to prevent a meltdown.

best answer would be HEAT! when you are playing game the the graphics card and the proccessor work hard and generate more heat then they do in normal window. if u dont have enough fans or any other cooling options then it will shut the computer down.

Nick is right over heating, so put some more case fans in your computer case to circulate the air faster

It could be overheating, could be a virus, could be some other kind of error...

Do you hear the fan going? Is your tower under a desk or enclosed in a cupboard? Make sure it's getting plenty of airflow or it can overheat.

video card in most cases, especially if it was a 3D game. If it happens over and over...it might be the game. Make sure your video card drivers are up to date and you have the latest patch for the game installed.

I notice some of these lap tops will shut down when to hot. Could this be your problem?

Overheating, hard drive or processor issues. Does it do this at any other times and are their any other noticeable problems?
