Who is the better actor based on pure talent, Edward Norton or Robert DeNiro?

right now deniro, but by the time norton is deniro's age. when norton is at denioro's age, then he will be the better actor in his 50's then deniro's is in his 50's.

My personal favorite is Edward Norton. He can play a range of roles (Rounders, The Illusionist). However, Robert DeNiro has a whole host of film credits that outweighs Norton. Taxi Driver was an amazing movie. But Edward Norton will still remain my favorite, no matter how much more experienced DeNiro is. :)

DeNiro in his younger days had a great body of work, including Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, Bronx Tale, Awakenings, Raging Bull, and the Deer Hunter. Lately, he doesn't seem to be taking on very challenging roles.

Norton doesn't have the body of work yet that would make this comparison an easy task. However, his breakout role in Primal Fear was amazing. He has the potential to be as good as DeNiro. Hopefully he will continue to take on new and challenging roles and not be sucked into one genre (such as DeNiro and comedy).
