The question should be "was" a hippie. Ask her her thoughts on Viet Nam, Kent State, sit-ins, weed, Janis Joplin, Woodstock and what flowers she wore in her hair. Ask if she wore tie-dye, burned her bra, and staged protests anywhere. Ask where she was when she heard Jim Morrison had died.
Flash her a peace sign and ask what free love was about.
Those answers should give you a clue, if she doesn't come out and admit she was a hippie.
