EVER smell something cooking and it reminded you of the past?

MY gramdmas banana cream and coconut and chocolate cream pies. OH yum yum yum.
THEn there is my aunts banana cake with cream cheese topping.
MY mothers beef pot roast nothing like it.

all italian food reminds of my exboyfriend's mom's cooking.she was the best cook of all time. i don't miss him but i do miss her.
watermelon pickles and creamed onions remind me of childhood thanksgivings and xmas.
eating candy always reminds me of my kids.
chicken francaise reminds me of another exboyfriend, a drunk.
fried egg sandwiches remind me of my deceased mother because she fried them while i was pregnant and it made me vomit. of course, everything did, but not THAT quickly.
pumpkin pie reminds me of my best friend because on thanksgiving we ate a whole one by ourselves, every year, for a long time. it became tradition.
easter candy reminds me of my best friend too because i created an easter egghunt the 1st easter we knew each other. it was so funny because we were in our 20's.
hot cocoa reminds me of the blizzards in connecticut where i grew up. can't you just see the warm flames in the fireplace right now?

My grandmother's fried chicken, salmon patties, fried apple pies, tea cakes, sugar cookies, red velvet cake, ice box chocolate cake, pound cake.

Wow that sounds good! Can I have the recipes to all of them?! I remember smelling my mom's homemade rolls. The smell drove you crazy. Now I make them and they still taste so good.

My mom's Carrot cake... She use to make it every Saturday when I was little. Any cheese cake... They remind me of my brother's Birthday parties.

Watermelon bubble gum reminds me of my first bf when I was 14. It's not a food that you cook, but it's the only one that remonds me of anything!

I will never forget my gramma's homemade doughnuts...about as big as a saucer; my mom's fried chicken...to die for. Every Sunday growing up we had fried chicken, I miss that so much!

oh yeah especially when i smell barbeque's it reminds me of my country in Argentina cause Argentina has the best meat in the world and so it reminds me of my friends and family back home were we did barbeque's in the summer!

home made bread baking in the oven. My grandma use to make it all the time.
