AND WHEN DOES LIFE BEGIN?

2007-05-26 17:02:21 · update #1

AND FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAY PRO-CHOICE, THE WOMAN CAN DO AS SHE LIKES, WHY CAN'T WE SAY THAT SAME ABOUT MURDER. We'll kill anybody, it's our choice, right?

it is wrong to kill...

An absolute last resort. I could never do it and despise those that do it because a child would impact their lives a lot. Of course it will. If it were a rape case or if the parents were drug addicts would be the only reasons that it may be an answer. Just for the record I am strongly against it.
And why is it exclusively a woman's choice? What if the man wants the baby and is willing to take sole custody?

I only favor abortion ONLY if it is determined sometime during the pregnancy that having the baby could indeed jeopardize the life of the mother. Despite all the technology we have to make sure the mother survives childbirth, something might happen during the pregnancy (maybe the mother will get so weak and/or sick) and the professional can declare that having the baby can kill her (unless they can afford to do an emergency C-section, and sometimes it can be expensive.) If this is the case, and there are no other options to save the life of both mother and baby, abortion might be the only way to preserve the life of the mother.

I'd hope that all people considering abortion are considering other options, but it is a womans decision to make. It's stupid to say that only in cases of rape an incest are abortions acceptable. What's the difference between a random rapist or a 13 year old willing partner? They both aren't going to be able to take care of a baby. What kind of life would the baby have? Those are all hard questions that a mother faces, and should consider fully. Abortion should be in the basket, but hopefully after other options.

Unless a pregnancy will be excessively dangerous for the mother, or the fetus tested positive for a life-threatening disease, there is no excuse to kill it. Other than of course in rape/incest cases. I believe that life starts at conception, while the baby is not self-aware until later in a pregnancy it still has begun developing into a human. Once an egg becomes fertilized it becomes different than all the others, and life is started.

Murder is murder, but it can be justifiable like in the scenarios I stated above. You can't go kill someone just because they're existence is a problem for you.

eh. I can say that I think I am pro-choice. Why should people nose into desicions made by women. It's their life. I mean those losers waste their time on something that won't be effecting THEIR life.
I don't think I would ever get an abortion, unless it is really justified. I also think they should use more advanced technologies in abortion that won't lead up to what it does now.

I used to be for it way back when they were allowed to abort only in the first trimester or something like that.

I was horrified when I found out what they are doing now. I can't believe that when women have this reputation for being nurturers, they can allow some Josef Mengele to kill their nearly full grown babies in a most repugnant manner, just so they can continue to go out and party hardy, and then not call that murder?

There exists here a serious lack of logic, reason, morality and priorities, that's my guess.

I am pro-choice

edit:
Well you should have asked the rest of that in your question instead of just asking me for my view... I personally care more about the newborn babies... Obviously I believe in abortion for rape victims, incest victims, and the mother's health-but also because making abortion illegal is not going to make that woman care anymore about that fetus.. there would be more babies born with HIV, FAS, neonatal Herpes and various other diseases and viruses, there would be more babies born drug addicted, there would be more babies born with many more complications, there would be more babies thrown in dumpsters, garbage cans, off bridges- personally I would rather see a fetus aborted at 12 weeks then to be brought into this world only to suffer and possibly die- It's easy to say that all that stuff is bad, and that people shouldn't do that.. but unfortunately we don't live with all normal people- there are crazy people, evil people, people that are careless, and people that are oblivious- It's just part of living with many kinds of people... so I'm sorry but I will take the lesser of the two evils.. and that is abortion by far..
Now I do not believe in late term abortions- but that is not often performed
As far as when does life begin.. I will leave that up to the doctors to tell their patients when those women lose their babies that they wanted... That doctor will do everything in his/her power based on their education to tell that woman that it was not her fault that she lost that baby and that it was not a life, and that it didn't feel anything, etc... so I'm going to leave it up to the doctors to tell their patients because I don't have the educational background that they do- the same goes for murder in general... I will leave it up to the doctors to tell their patients when life begins.. if they same life doesn't begin until the fetus can survive outside of the womb then obvioulsy it would not be considered murder.. because murder is is the unlawful killing of a human being with malice

Abortion is a medical decision involving a woman and her doctor. Life begins when the first breath is drawn and the baby can live outside of the mother, prior to that moment
it is a parasite, depending on the support of the hostess. Best wishes

I've always felt that it's hypocritical and morally defunct to say that the right of an adult to choose overrules a defenseless person's right to live.

That isn't freedom that's fascism.

Tylermni a fetus cannot be a parasite because a parasite is genetically unrelated to it's host by definition. The fetus is a commensalistic symbiote.

The old ever debating Abortion question. At four weeks of age the heart starts to beat. I used to be so anti abortion. My then fiance' now ex wife, got an abortion on me and I could not stop her. Now I am so happy that she did choose abortion. Nothing could have been worst than being away from my own child. I'm glad she did choose abortion. So, the answer to your question is: I don't know.
