I have just bought an ASUS N7600GS and I have an integrated graphics card in my machine at the moment. I have been told many things about installing the new one but they have just confused me. Can someone please give me clear instructions on how to uninstall the old and install the new????

Turn off the computer.
Unplug it.
Touch the metal case
Put the card into the slot
When the computer boots up you may have to go into the bios ( it will tell you how to enter bios - usually delete key , or f1 of f 10).
You may not have to do this the computer may do it by itself.
If not go into the bios and in the area inegrated peripheals change the setting of the video card from the internal one to the external one ( pci express or agp)
There will be an install disc.
If you do not have the disc download the install files before
most video cards are either nvidea or ati based.
Just download the software and make a cd if you need to,
You may want to update Direct X from microsoft before you start to update the card

The latest version is direct x 9c. You can get earlier ones at oldversion.com
have at least 8.1. Some newer cards will not work with at least direct x 8.1

you do not need to uninstall an itegrated grafix card it will basicaly step aside when you install the new one all you need to do is open up the pc and find the slot that the new card fits in and if it has any cds that came with it you will need to instal those to. buy the way if your puting a card into the computer you will want to touch the case before you touch any of the parts becuase this will prevent a static shock from frying your mother board.

Ok heres what you do open up your pc case and grab one side of your case to ground yourself. Next find your old graphics card and losen the screw which holds it in place. Now nicely remove your graphics card from your motherboard. Now open your package of your package which contains your new graphics card and install it in your pci or agp slot depending on what type of graphics card you bought. Put the screw back in to lock your graphics card in place. I forget to tell you before you do any of this disconnect everything from the back of your pc and pull your power cord out . Wait fifteen second . Also make sure your computer is completly turned off ,before you even start. Ok back to what I was telling you about instaling your graphics card. Now boot up your pc at boot up it should now detect your new graphics card. Ok if it does great. Ok now click on the start menu. Now go to control panel add or remove programes and unistall your old graphics card drivers. Ok now after thats done. Put the cd that came with your graphics card and install the drivers. Now after all this is done you should be good to go. Hope this helped. Enjoy your new graphics card.
