Do I need to erase the info. in hard drive? to get it to turn on? Was using a lap top, it broke from the lid getting slamed shut, now it won't work, had to borrow neighbors, and it won't load up the Windows XP Proffesional. I need help A.S.A.P. Have online homework.

Its the neighbors computer that I can't get to load up, never mind the lap top, I know it needs fixed.

You have a hardware fault, dont think anyone can talk you into how to fix this, best take it to a repair shop.

Sounds like the laptop has some hardware issues and will have to be serviced. If you purchased it recently it may still be under warranty. Call the manufacturer and tell them it quit working and you don't know why. ;)
Otherwise, you may have to take it to a pro or pony up for another laptop.

cuz u broke the screen it not showing u text cuz u have to fix it and it wil cost you about $750
