Well, as a theatre major in Tulsa, I'd say the best way is to
1, learn as much as you can about the craft (read plays, acting books like Stanislofski, etc) take theatre and acting classes
2, audition for just about everything (no doubt what town you live in you can find at least one community theatre
3, don't give up. Its a hard living we do, you'll face rejection, but be determined.
You don't have to start in a big city to make it there. Keep your chin up and break a leg! :-)
