Look at a Topographical Map of your area,or even a Road Atlas! They usually show the County Line's and Boundaries! Your Local Police Service will usually have it on their Title (ie) Cobb County Sheriffs Department. Hamilton-Wentworth or Peel Regional Police.

You should be able to look at a map of your state that shows counties and figure out where your city is. Or you can put in your state and "counties" in a search engine.

The name of a county is usually on an inportant building in the area, especially a courhouse or a library. Even a hospital has the name of a county it's in, that's how I remembered mine.

Look in your phone book under Government Offices. (Usually blue pages in front of the yellow pages.) It should list State, County and City Offices.
If you're in Louisiana, you don't have counties.
