Everyone likes to jump on the Yankees because they are off to a slow start this year. They will all go back into their shells when they start winning. I am a Dodger fan but always willing to give credit to a good team and good franchise.

From a community point of view, there were a lot of Red Sox-Yankees questions before the season started, where the Yankees spend an absurd amount of money and expect to win the World Series, while Boston increases their payroll to challenge.
Fast forward to two months later, the Yankees are below .500, and the Red Sox are the best team in baseball. Red Sox fans are being loud to get back at Yankees fans for their abuse, now that they're in a position of strength.
However, now, other teams are smirking, because the team with the $ 200 million dollar payroll can't even break .500, and falls 10 games behind before June even starts.
People aren't hating on the Yankees because they're doing badly, it's because they pay the most money and expect to win World Series AND that they're doing badly.
However, their run differential is very good and they should be playing better than they are. They're currently the favourites for the AL Wild Card at baseballprospectus.com, and sports a 23% chance to make the playoffs.

It's not because their doing bad it's because they're the yankees, everyone hates the yankees

Everyone hates the yankees because they won so many world series and have so much money that they can buy the all-star team that they have now

And it has nothing to do with this season. It has to do with the arrogance of the Yankees and in particular of their fans.

well this year it dodesnt look it the pitching was not good now it getting better but not there yet and the offense is probbly the best in baseball but they have to be consisntent today ex wang 8 inings 3er and the yankees offense 1 run what the heck you know but in mlb history no doubt there the best ever

the real reason i hate the yankees. because they have so much money they can afford all the top players.. which makes it an unfair game. plus theyre all too cocky, which is funny because they always make it to the series but rarely ever win..haha
