I LIKE THAT YOU USED A QUOTE BY GHANDI. WELL I THINK WE ALL HAVE THAT RIGHT TO SPEAK OUR MINDS. IF NOT OUR LIVES WOULD LACK MANY THINGS ONE BEING THAT WE WOULDN'T HAVE ANY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES ON ANYTHING, AND QUITE FRANKLY WE WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE DIVERSITY OR VARIETY IN PERSONALITIES. THEREFORE, I WOULD AGREE WITH GHANDI AND VOLTAIRE, I MAY NOT LIKE WHAT YOU SPEAK BUT I WILL DEFEND TO THE DEATH YOUR RIGHT TO SAY IT.

To get a real freedom of thought, you need to get a very neutral educations, in order to see your world trough a very pure prism (unlike cultural prism that limits our comprehension to our own precepts). So your question is not too much relevant, as we are not raised in such a world, even if we can seek our own answers, we are bound to our language, thus our culture. It is still possible to get better at it, but we need it young... When we get into such materials, we are all at the University, which is in some case, too late to changed anything... Political correctness is for the real blinds the ones that did not get to learn or know anything about how the world is working!!

Look, I'm a Christian, which IMMEDIATELY puts me on some people's lists. Oh well. As a Bible-believing Christian, I have read about human evil in all its forms since the beginning of time. We see wives tricking husbands, brothers killing brothers, and brothers selling brothers into slavery, etc., etc., ad nauseam. Evil is EVERYWHERE. We see that with our own eyes and we are assured of that by virtue of the fall of Adam. Which brings us to the point of Jesus' coming and the promise of His second coming. He died that we may live. But until He finally delivers us from sin, from the grip it has on all of us, this my friends is hell on earth!
I'm supposed to be shocked that Terry Schiavo was murdered by the courts? Or that 1 million unborn babies are slaughtered every year? Just look at how Jesus was murdered. After all, he could have died just about any ol' way, but we're not talking about a mule kicking him dead in the head. Or he being felled by a carpentry accident. No, no. Jesus was RAILROADED! He was lied about! He was setup! He was betrayed by a supposed friend! His trial was a mockery! His execution vicious beyond words! And yet ... I'm to ignore all of that? I'm to be surprised that people want to control my thoughts? That people want to stone me for disagreeing with them? Hardly! The Bible is clear. As Christians we will be persecuted. And we are, right here in the good ol' U.S.A., a once Christian nation. But our persecution is small taters compared to Christian persecution around the world--think examples like Iraq and China.
So, the media tries to control the debate on everything. If you don't believe in evolution, you're said to be a fool! What does it matter that even evolutionary scientists abandon the theory every day? This isn't about facts! If you don't embrace the homosexual lifestyle, you're a bigot. What does it matter that homosexuals have a suicide rate MUCH higher than the population at large? That the homosexual lifestyle is terribly unhealthy? OBVIOUSLY unnatural! Opposing views need not apply. LOL!
If you are willing to stand up to those enemies of truth, then God bless you! But do NOT delude yourself into believing that "free speech" means that you are protected from the consequences of people's anger, resentment, and downright hatred. Our history proves that the forces of evil crush opposing viewpoints everyday. They will not stop until we are silenced. Only God can protect us!

Give me liberty or give me death...
I love the fact that I can choose to love someone's ideas or choose to enact my Constitutional right to protest against it. If people don't like what I say, they have the right not to listen. There are so many "leaders" of various organizations that are talking very loudly, but saying absolutely nothing. Honestly, some people should develop a sense of humor and maybe they won't be offended by everything.

Freedom of Thought? I dont have a problem with that but does not mean I agree with what has been said. You are correct! Political correctness is wrong. The nation needs to quit sugar-coating the rest of the world. And us!

I have no personal experience with the movement. My thoughts are that is is our right to think as we wish. I may take considerations to keep my thought to myself and it is my privilege to have that privacy. I will refrain from sharing my thought without a request. Advice or comment that is unsolicited is just plain rude. I do not care to have your opinion and if I do I will ask and if you do not wish to share well that is your right. If you ask me how I feel I will tell you the uncut version and if you ask do not be offended because I do not expect you to agree.

Yes!!!!! I certainly do There are those who would seek to silence you and I in order to maintain or gain power there are many opinions I disagree with but people still have the right to express them and I would defend any ones right to free speech no matter how wonderful or despicable I may think their opinion is
