Simple..

They continue to support the war because:

1. How else are you going to fulfill the prophecy of the End of Days? They need an Apocalypse so that they can finally be right about one thing.

2..Terrorism is a tactic; a concept, not a nation nor an army; just a methodology, and a very bad on at that. So are we really fighting a war against a tactic? No really. Is it about oil? A little, but that's too simplistic. So let's pull out our best slogans:

"They hate us for our freedoms" - Oh you mean the end of Habeas Corpus and the shredding of the Constitution? That old thing? They want our Patriot Act?

"The mushroom cloud" - it's more like they need to stop smoking the mushrooms

"Fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" How about, minding our own business, finding and killing Osama, and fortifying our defenses domestically - and I don't mean banning liquids!

3. It's easier to support the status quo because trying to find an alternative practical solution to this mess requires critical thinking skills that our education system has failed to provide a lot of us, sad to say..

They have this weird thing of, "if we say it often enough, even we will believe it"

Yes, we all know that war is a necessary instrument of life. Nothing can ever remain peaceful.

However, really think about it, insurgency has been on a steady incline.. they continue to capture and kill thousands of soldiers trying to help them.. do they really want our help?

In a democracy, the citizens take part. The problem with setting up a democracy there, you are only taking one religion out of power and putting another in their place. There will never be a true balance. Since they are having such a difficult time with Iraq, they feel they can go to Iran and try to "help" them. Well, Iran already has a democracy that has been working very well for them. The United States has created even more enemies and no one is ready to openly admit it. Why? They would rather call those who don't support us, friends of terrorists.

I understand all the information I receive from the media is not accurate, so I read as often as I can, a lot of my friends from high school were from the Middle East and some I still speak with. I listen to the stories of how some of their families and even they were tortured under Sadaam's rule. Do I think that justifies the reasoning for going there. No. I'm going to ask the same question that people ask about the amnesty situation, if they really wanted their government to change, why don't they help us help them?

It's very difficult to change the things that have been stuck in their ways.. that is why Conservatives will never change, because they fear it.

The war in Iraq was founded on WMD that Hussein himself propagated to scare us not thinking we would do what we did. T9/11 was caused because Osama Bin Laden saw that Clinton let terrorists kill thousand of Americans and never retaliated so that's why he planned 9/11. The reason we haven't had another 9/11 is because the terrorists saw that we would fight back, so there IS a correlation between 9/11 and the war in Iraq. Think about it!

While 20/20 hindsight sure seems to tell us it was a mistake to go in, we are in now & if we pull out now we will have a massacre!

If a surgeon operates but once the patient is opened up, discovers the operation was a bad idea, he doesn't just walk away with the patient on the table. He takes the time to close him up.

To 'cut-n-run' will only add tragedy to tragedy.

And blame Iran for the mess. He is sending weapons & terrorists to kill civillians as well as our troops. And if we leave, we will just be handing Iraq over to Iran. You can blame Bush for that situation if you want to, but the fact remains, be must stay if we don't want the presidential loon from Iran to have Iraq!

To bail out would embolden the enemy and strengthen their resolve. Bin Laden himself said the reason he attacked was because we did nothing when he attacked the WTC the first time or when he bombed our embassies in Africa and when we bailed out of Somalia at the first sight of blood he called us a paper tiger
as too you second point we dethroned a evil dictator a mass murderer one who paid 25,000 dollars to families who would strap bombs on their children in order to murder innocent people He had rape and torture rooms he threw people off of 5 story buildings for pleasure and his sons would feed children to starving tigers while he forced the family to watch and you call this a mistake? When you have the ability to do something then you have the responsibility to do something .Not doing it makes you as guilty as the scum who do it.
I will always support any endeavor ro stop evil and to promote freedom to all mankind regardless of politics. We are our Brothers Keeper and we have the obligation to protect the innocent and to stop the guilty no matter the cost. If this makes me sound bad then I guess I'm just bad

The primary system the US uses tends to punish moderates and compromisers in favor of extremists (in both parties) who have to stick to the party line or lose support for their next election, or not even get nominated. The republicans are playing smart politics...if the war starts to go better. If it keeps on sucking, well, they are toast next election.

The plan is simple ace.
A. Crush their army, check.
B. Find Saddam, check.
C. Make sure he is brought to justice, check!
D. Provide security, check.
E. Boost infrastructure, check.
F. Oversee and facilitate the installation of a democracy, check.
G. Hold elections, check.
H. Target Al-Queda and foreign insurgency, check.

This has been routinely laid out over and over by both the administration and segments of the media. Perhaps the problem of your ignorance stems from your choice of media outlets, specifically liberal ones that constantly tell you "the war cant be one, America sucks, our troops are terrorists." But I dont blame people like that for playing an evil angle, I blame you for being gullible enough to suck it up.

You cant possibly imagine the consequences should we had failed or resigned to defeat in Iraq.

Liberals and Democrat believe we will lose... which doesn't suprise me since they lost presidential elections back to back
