Hi all,

My husband and I had sex about 3 times with condoms and none of them broke. I track my cycle and know my fertile window. After my fertile window closed my husband and I had sex 2 days later and he didn't pull out and we didn't use protection. I've started to exercise and take a diet pill. My sleep patterns have been all over the place. My periord started on the day it was supposed to but only lasted 1.5 days and was lighter than normal. My period usually lasts 5-6 days and is heavy. It's been a week and my period hasn't started back up. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests 3 days apart and both came out negative. But when I looked at the test I took today 2 HOURS after I had taken it, I could see a very faint portion of the positive line. It was the lower forth of the line, not the whole thing and it was really faint. I know the instructions say the test is not valid after 10 minutes, but I'm worried. The line wasn't there in the first 10 minutes. Should I worry? I'll retest soon.

The reason they say to ignore whatever lines do or dont show up after the first ten minutes, is because it is no longer acurate.
A pregnancy test works based on chemical reactions that occur when your urine and the hormones it contains react with enzymes in the stick, creating visible dye (the lines) if you are pregnant..
These reactions occur within a few minutes. After ten minutes, reactions occur within the stick causing the dye to be released, regaurdless of whether you are pregnant or not. So basically it can show a positive result even if you are not pregnant. It is NOT accurate. So dont worry.
You should go to a GP and get a BLOOD test done to check for pregnancy...these test are way more accurate and will put your mind to rest. If possible, considering using additional contraception to ensure you dont get so worrried in future.
The more you stress, the later your period can be, so go see a doctor and relax!
Best of luck.

A faint positive line still means positive. That's exactly what happened to me and now I'm 9 weeks pregnant. Congratulations!

Based on what you report in terms of your activities, I would say you could be pregnant. But you'll know soon enough!
