I plan on taking a movie and add scenes and songs to it to make it into a musical for Broadway. How would I go about doing this?

You have to write it first, then you have to approach the group that owns the rights to the movie. The rights to make this musical would then have to be bought before it could be produced. If this is a mainstream movie, the rights would probably be incredibly expensive. If you got that far, you would then go to local theater companies. Very few musicals make it all the way to Broadway.

1. Write it.
2. Approach a local community or regional theatre so you can put it on.
3. Approach the company that owns the rights to the movie (e.g. Warner Brothers).
4. Invite Broadway producers and people to come see the community/regional production.

If you are talking about a major motion picture, unless you are a major player with millions of dollars, you probably won't be able to get the rights to the movie.

Also, the producers may not want it made into a Broadway Musical, and thefore, not give you the rights to it.
