I'm gay but I still love God, and after noticing a lot of gays hate Christians (and vice versa) I was wondering if you were a Christian before you realized and still are, or if you became a Christian after. Why or why not?
>_< PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO HATEFUL COMMENTS!

Hey,

I'm gay also. I personally have nothing against christians. I believe in God. Lots of people say that we will burn in hell because we're "wrong" "sick" or worse. Jesus died on the cross because he loves us all. everyone. as for breaking the rules of the bible, I feel the bible is more of a guide line, or an interpretation. The bible was written 2000 years ago, and also, written in multiple languages and by multiple people. These authors could have not placed the words of God in the bible, but their own beliefs or promoted their own ideas. Also 2000 years ago there were different values and beliefs. The world was flat for one. So how acurate the bible is I don't know, and I don't think anyone will ever know.

These are my feelings and beliefs. I do believe in God, and I am hurt when others say you can't be gay and christian.

There are many good answers here already and my two cents may not add to much but I like this question so I'll answer. I was raised strict catholic, taught catechisim, and was very involved in the parish community. But that was all before I came out. What a difference a day makes. As said by others the church and christianity are distinctly different things and it took ostracisim by the establishment for me to not only learn that but believe it. The church is woefully horrible dealing with any type of diversity in the arena of sexual issues. Certainly there are sects which will embrace anyone in the true christian spirit but they aren't the norm. Going thru that period did lead me down in path in which I questioned my personal faith, to the point of even becoming a borderline non-believer. However over time and connecting with gay christians I dug deeper into the bible, engaged in conversation to clarify misconceptions I may have had and made a peace with my creator. Not to say I believe in the same god as anyone else necessarily, but I have FAITH in a higher power. I don't consider myself necessarily christian but I don't belittle anyones beliefs (Christian or otherwise) if they follow those teachings with their heart. I try to keep that in my soul, head and heart, and conduct myself as any decent person would. Not that I always do, but I try. So I guess I was a christian that lost faith and found it again in a different spiritual belief. Not that it's better or worse, just different.

Dont confuse Christianity with the Church.

The Church has historically a horrible track record on being Christian.

For example not too many years ago (relatively speaking) the Church used to Burn poeple alive for dissagreeing with its totaletarian views. The Church has oppressed women for centuries under the excuse that women are responsible for the original sin and therefore sinful by nature. The Church has also oppressed Blacks and promoted slavery with the excuse that Blacks are abominations which carry the Mark of Cain (their skin color) so its ok to discriminate agaist them.
Left handed people where sometimes killed and tortured because the Church said the Left hand symbolises Satan, Jesus sits only in the right hand of the Father, which is the holy normal hand. Left handed people were freaks and abominations. The list goes on...

Noone should be suprized that the Church is now active in a modern day Witch-hunt against people that are gay.

Today we know that those people who Championed the Church in the past and promoted those hateful beliefs are now burning in Hell. Following Christian Dogma, the people that hate gays will also burn in hell.

I am Bi and I have loved God for over 20 years. It was a long time before I gave into the idea that I was Bi. But if I looked at what I have done over the years, it's the truth. So I was Bi before I was a Christian, and I was accepting of being Bi long after I became a Christian. Now I am a Bisexual Christian. lol

I understand that God works with me in spirit and truth. And it's the truth that I am Bi. Many Christians hate me for it, because they see God's hand in my life and I am such a sinner. To me that makes it even better. ( :

Lots of gays love god and they believe that god is the creator of us all and loves EVERYBODY. That is why you see gays who are christians. There are some who hate christians because of all of the hatred christians have leveled at gays!

I do and will always believe in God. I dont hate gays but I do believe that your lifestyle is wrong. However I also believe that God gives everyone choices and you will realize the consequences of your actions soon enough.

I'll be completely frank. I think christianity is a joke, and I dont believe in god. Its just brainwashing. Its something for people to hold onto so that they think their life means something.

I have nothing against christians, and many of my friends are faithful, but its simply not for me.

Funny thing is I dont go on the christian forums posting how they should be converting to atheism and accepting their homosexual brothers as one of them.

Through-out history religion has been used to bring more harm than good to this world. I believe that totally. Nothing has waged more war or ruined more lives than organized religion.

Its a racket. Good for the people on top, terrible for the people who dont follow like sheep. Its just another form of control.

I'm a member of the Roman Catholic church, but I don't like the church. I do love the idea of god and the entire meaning behind it, and I consider myself Christian. Kind of complicated.

A believe is something to fulfill a personal need. I need to believe in a Supreme Being to make sense to most of it all, but I do not believe in a god of hate.
