My daughter is 8 months and I started of feeding her lots of orange solids - pumpkin, sweet potato and carrot from 6 months. Her face started going orange/yellow. Someone told me it was from her food so I have been only giving her green food for the last few weeks but she is still orange/yellow.

How do I know if it's jaundice or if it's just still from her food?

Oh it is just from the Vitamin A in the food. This happens quite often in babies and toddlers when they eat too much sweet potatoes, carrots, etc. Just stay away from those foods for a bit and soon her color will come back. Give it another week and if you don't see improvement after cutting thhose foods out then a call to the doctor will relieve any worries.

My son was born with Jaundice and his eyes was yellow and he had a yellow tint to his skin..what I did was I put him in the sun with only a diaper on for no more then 10 minutes.
You still need to take her to the doctor cuz it could be something really serious like jaundice ,so dont try to treat her urself she may need treatment at a hospital. If she is 8 months u need to feed her a kinds of foods not just green or orange. Feed her any kinds of baby foods and she should be tryin some solids to like lil chunks. Here is a really good website that will help a lot and it can give you better advice then what u can get on here....http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/89.html

Jaundice also makes the whites of the eyes turn yellow, too much carotene in someone's system only affects the skin. However it should have started to fade a few days after you stopped feeding her the orange foods. I'd probably want to have a doctor look at her in case there's something else happening.

I've heard of this happening many times. As far as I know, at that age, it isn't likely jaundice. If the whites of his eyes are a yellowish color too, then I would definitely talk to the dr. They can run tests. If it's just her skin...maybe try backing off of the yellow/orange foods and see if it goes away. From what I understand, it happens a lot! Good luck

OMG - I had this happen, too! When I first started my son on solids, I was so concerned about him eating enough vegetables that I loaded him up on the ones he liked - carrots, yellow squash, sweet potatoes... He turned orange - the orange was heavier around his nose and mouth. My Ped told me to take a few days off from the vegies with Beta-Carotene and see what happened - it worked. If you are concerned about jaundice, see your Ped. I'll bet it's the vegies!

The nurses at my hospital had a meter that they put on the baby to test for jaundice. Call your birthing ward and ask them if they have one. They'll probably let you come in and do it for you for free, it only takes a second. That would put your mind to ease about jaundice. But it sounds like its either a natural skin tone or from the food.

stay far flung from purple. purple is immediately throughout the time of from yellow on the colour wheel. the two hues assessment and it might spotlight the surplus yellow. Its not elementary to declare what might look maximum suitable... this is likely to take a great variety of trial and blunder. My toddler sister grow to be born with jaundice and my mothers and fathers favored to attend til it subsided to take photos. Now they be apologetic approximately it because of the fact they have not got any photos of her whilst she grow to be her tiniest. i think of its stunning you're nevertheless doing photos. She's a newborn, she's your priceless daughter, she would be able to look perfect regardless.
