I need to get my car windows tinted but don't know what % to get. Is there any place that has pictures of the the different levels you can get so I can choose? Thanks for the help.

That's a great question.

Some dealers have tried to develop an interactive site that can demo the various VLT types. The limitations of the web don't really work for this type of approach. All you can see is a darker or lighter version of the same picture dummied up.

Here's my window film 101 advice. Find a reputable shop in your area via the IWFA -Intl Window Film Association. http://www.iwfa.com ask to see film samples of their various films that this dealer carries and consider the reflectivity as well.

In my very biased opinion the top of the line films are Formulaone http://www.formulaone.com next down LLumar http://www.llumar.com

My competitors Madico Charcool, and Bekaert HP and Quantum are very good films highly functional. (Please don't tell anyone at FormulaOne I said so)

State laws vary on what percentage of tint you may put on the windows. Any tinting shop can give you examples, and also let you know what percentage is legal for street run autos. If it's a show car, and not driven on the streets, the tinting can be as dark as you choose.

Go to a shop that tints windows. They will have samples there that you can look at and decide on the level of darkness you want. The shop will have all the info you need regarding local laws regarding tinting. good luck
