most people had already left. And it was posted on youtube but Disney had it removed. I guess Disney expects us to go back and pay to see the movie again to to see the final scene?

It was an awesome scene, it gave hope to the whole situation with poor Will. A line of writing across the screen says "10 years later" and Elizabeth (who still looks exactly the same) is standing by the ocean with a little boy (I assume her and Will's son) and then they show the green flash and the Flying Dutchman appears, and then we see Will coming back to visit his wife and meet his son. (Will still looks exactly the same too ;o) It was great. I was so much happier when I saw that, because at the end of the movie (where Jack is sailing away in the dinghy) I liked the ending, but I was really sad for Will and Elizabeth. That extra scene just made it a little happier.

poor taste? i won't go quite that far. but i do wish it had been in the movie. we left to get seats for our second film of the day, so we missed it also. the clip is back on youtube (for now) where we just watched it. my GF loves it by the way--i think women, in particular, will.
it's a pain to sit and wade thru all the credits, for me anyway. if all movies had endings after the credits, that might be different--then you would know to stay. but sometimes you just sit there and nothing happens. unless i have heard about it, i usually opt to leave.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off was the first time i really took notice of this (though i think other films i had seen may have done it before). i guess all we can do is hit the net before going to see if anyone says "don't leave until after the credits..." for any movie you are going to see.

Tiff said it perfectly, they don't care. They put it at the end for whoever wants to stay and read the credits to see a pointless deleted scene that they shot but had nothing to do with, and then once everyone realizes that they missed it, they'll go sit for three hours and watch the same cookie-cutter Jerry Bruckheimer Pirate movie they've already seen how many times they've watched Curse of the Black Pearl or Dead Man's Chest, and pocket nine bucks to see it again.

I guess they figured most people who will be seeing this movie have seen the first 2 movies and know that both of them have a scene after the credits ....
this one is a lot better though, it actually makes sense and lets you leave on a happier note than you would if you left without seeing it.
Perhaps the reason they seperated it from the other "final" scene is that it didn't have anything to do with that scene .... if you didn't see it though, it was really worth seeing ..... at least I thought so. You should go back and watch it again. ;O)

Hey, it's your own fault you didn't wait. They did that for the first two, so you should have known to stay. they knew true fans would have. Jerry Brukheimer (wrong spelling, i know) even said in an interview, if you didn't stay after the credits you didn't see the whole movie.

They really don't care if they make you happy, they only care that you are filling their pockets with money over that stupid franchise.
