I hate older movies, and my boyfriend begged me to watch The Ghost and Mrs. Muir and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.

What about you guys? What's a movie that you didn't want to watch because you thought it would be a complete waste of your time, and it turned out that you adored it?

"Return to Me" with David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. I've seen enough chick flicks with my gal friends to know there are certain formulas that producers follow, with which they create a whole series of cookie-cutter plots. I feared this was one of them. My standards are 1) a good chick flick should be unpredictable and avoid those tired old plot formulas; or 2) if it does, the performances and writing should compensate well.

"Return to Me" was quirky, well-acted, and put in just enough twists that I was entertained. And I thought Duchovny and Driver had the right chemistry. This from a guy who rejects about 75% of chick flicks in general.

300. I really hate movies with blood and guts, but a bunch of kids in my tour group dragged me to go see it when we were in London, and I ended up loving it. Maybe its because of Gerald Butlers hotness.
