I seen some things that people said that teenagers don't know real music. I agree because most of them think that Rihanna and Avril are 'all that'.
But I am 13. I love ACDC, Led Zeppelin, Ramones, Pink Floyd, S*x Pistols, The Clash, The Doors, and anything else that would apply.
I know what real music is.
I just wanted you all to know that not EVERY teenager is brainwashed by pop music.

What do you think of THAT?!

It's so great to hear that! I was just like you at your age. When I was 13, I didn't follow the crowd, either. I listened to REAL music. I'm almost 30 and it still stands true today. You have great taste in music.

You have great taste. I'm 15 and I love that kind of music. I don't even listen to today's music. I only listen to 80's and some 70's music. I can't see how people even listen to today's music but to each his/her own. Ignore people like Little Miss Black Death. It's nice to know that a lot of teen today aren't brainwashed by pop.

I have a 17 year old daughter and she is a huge fan of "Queen", "Pink Floyd" and "Rush" and you know what? I'm 44 and I like alot of her newer music too!
Pop Culture does have a tendency to brainwash a majority, but the ones that don't follow the crowd are unique and intelligent and you are one of them! Enjoy what you want!

I think that's fine and dandy if you like them, not the cliche pop ones that are all the rage. But I also think its fine for people to like the pop music too, that's the beauty of having your own opinion. Who cares if some people make fun of the music others like? That's why there's tons of music out there- something for everyone, something for the different phases we all go through. We shouldn't be ashamed of what we like.

I think you have a handle on classic rock, but you should get out there and try newer music. Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Opeth, Riverside, Porcupine Tree, Boards of Canada, Shamrain, Gazpacho.

Get your google going, and use the net to find new sounds. listen to them with an open mind, follow the links, and see where the journey takes you. MySpace is a good start, too. last.fm is a fabulous place to start diving into the realms of aural pleasures out there. You can search by genre (tags), or follow links, listen to samples or even whole albums, join discussion groups and immerse yourself in a universe of sounds.

I think it's awesome that there's another young person still listening to the classic good stuff. Led Zeppelin is and always will be my favorite band ever. Good selection right there.
However..it's SEX pistols..not s*x....yeah..
