I will say it once again Princess. Abortions is only about 2% in the black community. Black and whites are getting pregnant, but white women are more likely to abort the fetuses.

You really shouldn't judge people Princess. I don't think having multiple kids out of wedlock is related to ignorance but closer to poor choices. Also you don't know if the people were engaged to be married, in a committed relationship or what their story was. You should be careful about passing judgment...you still have to travel through life and don't know the trials that will come your way. I've seen it many times people who thought they had it all...married the right people, big home, very people Princess who can not handle a trial or storm that blows their way. You may get married and have kids you still don't know how the story will unfold.

I guess for the same reason that catholics use use lack of education as an excuse for having multiple kids in wedlock.

Any excuse is better than none. I taught 8th in an inner city school. Three of my students were pregnant. I asked them one at a time about this, and each time they told me that their grandmothers had children out of wedlock, their mothers did too, welfare paid them an amount for the support of the children, so it was their way of supporting themselves. Now it was the 8th graders' turns to start helping the family.

A woman who is not educated bases her self worth on her ability to reproduce. More children are the result. When a woman is well educated she has the opportunity to improve her life situation instead of giving birth.
I do not believe this is an excuse; it is a reality. Educated women have more choices and as a result take precautions against unplanned pregnancy. Women who are not educated have fewer choices and tie their self esteem to birthing babies.

My best guess would be that the people aren't educated in birth control methods and how to use them properly.
However, the "out of wedlock" thing seems to be the trend nowadays as women CAN often support themselves without a contract tying the men into supporting them. Otherwise, the women might force the issue a little more. (This doesn't mean the men would be agreeable to marrying, however!)
P.S. to other answerers - she did not say anything about race. She was speaking about education, marriage, and children.

You're funny. You're funny because, like other racists, you base your arguments around things that while they may sound true in your head, are disproven by the most basics statistics. You would know that if you did any research.
You would know that white women with one or more children are the number one welfare recipients.
So who's having multiple children out of wedlock? Right.
"The day I meet a smart racist is the day I learn how to fly."
And TinaGoody....every question Princess post is meant to demean the black race and assert her self-proclaimed white superiority. If you pay more attention to such questions you'd see that.

You mean like the White girl on Dr Phil the other day who had three kids by three different White men?
Or all the WHITE celebs who do that?
And the question implies that you care about any itty bitty thing like MORALS, when the fact that you're asking it and what you're REALLY trying to imply tells me morals aren't your concern at all.
