Al Gore headed a gov't committee that set up protocols that allowed internet connections to grow in such a way that the system actually worked. As he said, when nobody else in government had a clue on how to deal with this new technology, Gore, as he said, '..took the initative' to set rules for this new communication media. Als' one of the good guys..that's why the reactionaries don't like him...so predictable!

That we are the cause of the the black hole on the other side of the galaxy because giving tax breaks to the rich changed the gravitational pull on this side of the galaxy and....

Sorry, I cannot think as off base as Al Gore.

Ervin, Al Gore's words were "I took the initiative in creating the internet" No matter how you slice it, that was taking credit for something he had nothing to do with. He misspoke like the idiot that he is!

Chance...he did make the statement above. NOBODY DENIES THAT! And I do not think that the question referred only to that comment. Everything Al Gore has been saying lately has been idiotic.

David, the recounts in Florida showed that Bush won in EVERY SCENARIO! Even the hand picked scenario that Gore wanted re-counted only gained him 6 votes, so Bush would have still won. GET OVER THAT ONE YOU IDIOT!

Noah...take off the tinfoil cap!!!! The govt had NOTHING to do with the creation of the internet! It was created by programmers who were linking medical files so data could be transferred easily. There was a medical internet before anything. So when Al Bore said that he took the initiative, he was taking credit where credit was not due. Plus the fact that the group you are referring to was a group. Even if they really had anything to say (the Internet was happening and would have never been stopped) but even as an oversight of any kind, it was very self boasting for Gore to say I TOOK THE INITIATIVE, not WE TOOK THE INITIATIVE. Face it, Al Gore is self boasting and full of crap!

This is amazing.

No, I am not talking about your question. I am referring to the fact that you were able to count to seven for your avatar.

Honestly, if you had a girlfriend or life, you wouldn't have to spend time on Yahoo! making up ridiculous questions about people that are not going to affect your life. Especially by pointing out statements that were made years ago. Think about it, since Gore made that statement, Bush has managed to blow the largest surplus in American history, create a national debt that is over 9 trillion dollars, start two wars, have two Secretaries of State, two Attorney Generals, two UN Ambassadors, declare himself "the decider," illegally wire tap thousands of Americans, take away fundamental rights of every American out there, alienate most of America's allies, and discover that his daughters are pill popping, alcoholic party girls, just like dad. Yet, you dwell on the fact that Gore stated he invented the internet. Next time, catch up on current events.
