I had to put my puppy down about 3 years ago because while I was pregnant, he got incredibly mean and tried to bite me. He also tried to bite a visitor I had one day. I decided then and there I would not have him around my child. I loved the dog, but he wasn't worth having around if he was going to be mean.

Just for the record....We tried to give him to family members, but none of them wanted to take him because they have their own pets. It took us a long while to decide to put him down. Our vet told us that because of his breed (Chow), he was only likely to get meaner since he showed the first signs.

Just 1 and that was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It was my kitten Dusty...my cat Sweetie's baby. He was attacked by a dog in the middle of the night and was barely alive when I found him the next morning! The vet couldn't save him so I had no choice...I really miss that little guy! : (

1, my 11 1/2 year old German Shepherd. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. She could no longer walk do to arthritis in her spine. We did all we could for her. My hubby and I stayed with her until she was gone and cried like babies. The ground was still frozen but my hubby and oldest son spent 5 hours digging a hole to bury her. My hubby also made a casket for her. We miss her greatly. She was an awesome dog our Kady Mae.

When I got pregnant we sent our cat to a friendly house because cats might give toxoplasm to pregnant women and this might prove very dangerous for the foetus. The plan was to keep him there for about a year. Finally, he stayed there for all his life, very happy and much loved. Now, we have another cat who wants to send this message:

....wow is me!!! Alice, don't ever put me down! I am healthy, I behave well and I love you! Mr. Linus, the avatar cat.

Linus, don't be afraid, we love you so much...

I've never had a pet. So, I've never had to deal with that traumatic situation. They become like family, I'm told. Sorry about it.oxox

My 16-year-old cat, Shadow,
a couple of kittens that weren't developing right,
and my son's pet rat Ciara.

So sad, but it had to be done.

Now ask how many cats I've found dead or had die in my hand. Too many.

Six. Four dogs and two cats. I was torn up each time I had to put one down.
