i got some old dolls from my grandma. there is a name on the side of the box that says Shackman in new york, ny but they were made in Japan. the year is 1957 &1958. does anyone have suggestions on how to find more information on these dolls. i have googled in just about everything i can think of with no luck. thank you for any help.

Is it for curiosity or are you hoping to sell them? An appraiser can help with pricing if that's what you were wondering. If you just want to know about Grandma's dolls, of course you should ask her because she will have the best information, but you could also maybe email some photos to antique dealers and ask if they can give you any history on them.
