Limbaugh has an objective ... a platform ... he gets people stirred up and causes reaction ... that is what he gets paid to do. Causing fear is the #1 way to manipulate folks. Don't let anybody, including Limbaugh, make you afraid.
Our country is NOT going to implode. I guess I have more faith in Americans than he does.
We create what we envision. If we envision a nice, safe, free place to live, then that is exactly what we a a society will create.
Whenever listening to propaganda, try to use your own best judgment AND remain as close to the middle, politically, as you can. Just because somebody is on the radio or tv does not make that person an expert or a neutral messenger. And if you go too far left or right you run into fear-based nut-cases. Trust your own instincts and try to walk the center line. :-)

The Rush Limbaugh Show is not news it is commentary and very poorly reasoned commentary at that. He always distorts the news he presents by ignoring any fact that doesn't support his conclusion, no matter how key. If you want quality balanced political commentary you should watch the Sunday morning talk shows on the major news networks, especially meet the press and This Week with George Stephnapolous {sp}. These shows present real commentary from conservative, liberal and moderate points of view, and they are intellectually honest about how they reach their conclusions. What you won't get is the fake outrage, or sideshows that you get on Limbaugh. While the country is in trouble it is not going to implode tommorow. If you want to get an accurate and honest asessment of how issues are affecting the country you should avoid Limbaugh and those who follow his model like the plauge.

the main agenda there is FEAR.
if you live your life in fear then you have already been brainwashed. Try not listening to the old carcass and fox news and you'll be better off. Live for the moment and let those idiots "properly" handle the issues at hand like Iraq and Katrina etc. No but seriously, we are all in charge of our own decisions so why let hypocrite's influence you. Make your own mind up about what you feel is right deep down inside.
peace.

If you find yourself believing what he says without question, you need to stop listening to the radio and take a class on critical thinking.
Not all of what he (or other talk show hosts) says is true or false. However, they are all in the business for ratings; it is the only way that they will continue to be paid. This means that they tend to take extreme positions in order to gain/maintain listeners.
My suggestion is that you spend at least half the time listening to a different talk show, maybe NPR, just to make sure you have more than one point-of-view affecting you.
