That technique will definitely only restrict your freedom further. Gaining their trust would be a much more effective way of getting them to stay out of your private life.

Can't you just ask them nicely to respect your privacy? What you're thinking of doing will just get rid of any trust they have in you. It will backfire, so don't do that.
