Only in romance fiction. It is kind of sad to think that Knights in Shining Armor and Damsels in Distress don't exist at least not anymore. Despite current trends in thought being vulnerable or being strong in a relationship still appeals to many. It just has too many bad points when taken too far. Sad though.

The Knights in Shining Armor are few and far between, if indeed any exist any more. Damsels in Distress are rapidly disappearing as well since most know they are on their own now and they will have to rescue themselves.

Not anymore. I "rescued" myself, because I finally learned how much I'm asking to have someone else "save" me. I no longer live under the Cinderella Syndrome, and I am now able to stand on equal ground with anyone I partner with. It's quite liberating.
