The Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT has 256 megabytes of memory with a 128 bit interface and a 400 MHz RAMDAC. No, the 7600 does not have 512 MB of memory.

PC gaming performance is a lot more dependent on graphics processor architecture, core clock and memory clock and NOT on videoram size. For the same card model, 256mb ddr3 will beat 512mb ddr2 ALL THE TIME. Besides, 512mb videoram is not always fully utilized in games.
7600GT 256mb ddr3 is a good mainstream card.
