We want to name her Sierra but my boyfriend doesn't like that because it is spelled like the soda. The other ideas we had were:
Cierra
Ciera
Siarah
Siara
Does anyone have any other spellings or really like or dislike one of these? I want to make sure that her name isn't going to be read wrong all of the time. Please help.

If you don't want to go with the S, I would use Cierra. That sounds most like what you want it to. When people give their children names with weird spellings it just leads to people who cannot pronounce the names.

If you want to make sure everyone can spell it, go with Sierra. The only Sierra's I know are spelled like that. Otherwise go with Ciara or Sierrah maybe. Congrats!

Oh and I do agree with the answerers: when I see it spelled Sierra, I think of the Sierra Nevadas. It isn't like you're naming her Sierra Mist ___ or Pepsi or Coke or 7-Up. You're giving her a reasonable spelling!

I would forget about the soda and go with Sierra. At least people won't misspell it. By the way, my daughter is Sierra and I just think it looks the prettiest spelled this way. I wouldn't do Ciara. People might pronounce is Ci - are - a.

I honestly don't think of the soda but of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Some of them on the list put emphasis on different syllables than the spelling Sierra. Siarah seems to sound like C-R-A.

Stick with Sierra. If you insist upon a trendy name, go with the most conventional spelling possible or else it will just cause confusion. And I don't think most people would associate the name with the soda... perhaps the Sierra Nevadas or something like that.

I have a cousin named Sierra and no one has ever compared her to the soda. NO ONE! I love the spelling I think it's the prettiest and cutest..it just looks kinda weird with a C or whatever. Siara would be good i guess, but people might pronouce it See-are-ah rather than see-air-ah

I think Sierra is just fine . No one is going to think of a soda. They are just going to see a pretty little girl named Sierra.

Ciera or Cierra reminded me of my mom's Oldsmobile cutlass. LOL

The other 2 just look like you mistyped

My favorite spelling is Sierra. I am really not crazy for any of the other spellings.

I think Siara is the prettiest. I still might like Sierra a little better, but understand the boyfriend's importance. I think that sometimes when it is spelled too unusual it takes away from the name itself. Beautiful name.
