my 6 month old has acquired her hospital blanket has her lovey, she has to have it to sleep or when she is not feeling good or just wants to lay down, she rubs it on her face and it calms her down.
I wanna switch it to a different blanket or somthing else cause of the "hospital look" you know the ones withthe feet prints all over them :)
can i do that or will she notice if i just take it away and replace with somthing else?
At least i have like 5 of them i took from the hospital to keep washing and give her new ones but I just don't like the look i guess, am i bad or what? lol oh well how do you thin kshe would react to doing that?

To really be able to pull it off you have to first start by presenting both the old lovey and the new lovey at the same time. Just removing the current lovey will cause anxiety. Once she's used to having both loveys at the same time you can try removing the first and leave her only with the second. Done correctly, she should be able to accept either for comfort.

On a side note: did you know that there's a whole subset of "replacement lovey" type items on eBay. After a few years when the original starts to break down, parents go to the store where it is of course no longer being carried. They end up on eBay where a lovey that originally cost $8 is now going for $60+. Always a good idea to buy multiples of an item that has the potential of becoming the favorite--and heck if your kid doesn't take to it you can always sell it on eBay for a bizzilion percent profit.

Well first you have to try it, she may not have a problem with it at all. Try to consider what she likes about her "lovey" and make sure the new blanket has that too. She rubs it on her face so it must be soft, or have a texture she likes to feel. Keep that in mind when you look for her replacement, and I'm sure she will love it!

I guess you could try something else, and then you would see for yourself what her reaction will be. If the only reason you want to take the blanket away from her is that you don't like what it looks like, that seems a little mean. If those blankets make her happy, and they aren't hurting anyone (who sees them besides you?), then why not leave well enough alone?

I doubt that at 6 months old, she will notice that you have switched blankets, especially if you have 4 more of them!

Just be sure that you remove it when she is NOT holding it,
and replace it with one that is clean and SOFT. I'm pretty
sure she will LOVE the new LOVEY just as much, if not MORE! GOOD LUCK!

Try the blanket that you want to switch with a couple of hours a day. I think gradually getting her to take it would a great idea. Good luck.

i would just try switching it by giving her the new one and the hospital one and after a few days or a week take it away. it may backfire though and she may end up with two loveys

Well I'd say if you want peace of mind, and just peace in general, dont switch it! I mean, you can but it wont be easy! Just hide all the hospital blankets and make new ones available I guess....but she will be restless without it and might not sleep.....

My opinion is if it makes her happy and keeps her content.....what other option is there?

I think she will definately notice. My son decided he had to have a teddybear that was his dads when he was a baby, and his grandparents gave it to him on a visit when he was like 7 months old. And it was old and ratty looking, and I tried to change it, and he wouldn't settle down until I gave him the old back.

relish this on an analogous time as you are able to> at times adult adult males or women individuals will proceed to maintain this up< yet particular circumstances will avert the two one in each and every of you to have this high quality time mutually> maybe a baby may well be right here interior the close to destiny< and he or she would be in a position to no longer have the time to pacify you like she does now< or it would desire to be that she takes on an entire time profession< or something>>>>> only be happy for as we talk and something will artwork itself out>
