Soon after O'Donnell announced her departure, The New York Post listed several rumored replacements: Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford, Nancy Grace, Kathy Griffin, Sherri Shepherd, Connie Chung, and Roseanne Barr, with Barr identified as the current front runner.
I think trying to replace Rosie with a comedian is a poor idea. It would be setting the next person up for failure and constant comparison to Rosie.
They should go for someone like Connie Chung, only not Connie, if you get what I mean. I think Connie is tainted by Maury's bad television. How about Marlo Thomas?

I hear Roseanne is a top contender. Also Ricki Lake would be a good moderator, she hasn't done much since she hosted that Game Show Marathon last year, and this could save her from a place on that "Surreal Life" show... LMAO. Another good contender would be Jane Wiedlin, former guitarist of the Go-Go's. I thought she was bubbly and fun on her season of "The Surreal Life" and she could put some kick back into the show to save it.
I'd suggest Ellen DeGeneres; she has class unlike Rosie, and she could also be lots of fun at the round table. But she has her own show, and I think the other ladies would be cheesed off with her insistance to dance every show.... LMAO

I think that Ricki Lake, Marie Osmond, or Donny Osmond should take Rosie's place on The View.

That girl, Sherry, (sorry forgot her last name), that has co-hosted a few times would be okay, providing she brushed up on current events daily. If not, a great suggestion was Natalie from The Dixie Chicks...now there would be a great replacement for Rosie's job, which was the best ever.

ABC has it down to three people as they set up interviews:
Whoopie Golberg
Roseanne Arnold
Megan Mullally
Whoopie Golberg is the ABC favorite right now-they already have guest star shows set up for her. I would like to see Roseanne...but it looks like it will be Whoopie.

Rosie had requested that they replace her with a gay man.

They're looking for another loudmouthed loser. Should be somebody in her late 40's.
I hope it's not Kathy Griffin or Roseanne. Can you imagine their voices mixed with Joy's. Eewww......my ears!
Whoopie is so independent and a hardnosed person too. She won't bend. Connie Chung would be decent. Sherri Shepherd is stupid. She's not up on current events and doesn't seem to want to be. Plus, she talks too much.

I'd like to see Whoopi Goldberg in there. She doesn't like EH much either watching her body language towards her on previous shows but Whoopi is a very wise woman. Whoopi would cut EH wide, broad & deep before she even knew what happened, but even Elizabeth would think twice before trying to rattle Whoopi's cage. Roseanne would be good too.
It doesn't matter who takes over because I'm sure it will be a watered down version compared to what it was before. I bet they are making a list of hot topics that can't be talked about now.

Hallelujah, that huge lesbian waste of alot of space is gone. But as long as rosie's gone and they're on a roll, we might as well replace the entire cast with retarded gerbils because they would actually be smarter than what they have now.
