Tough call but all three of them were. But I do like Doug E. Fresh-his song "The Show" was the best back in the day!

Making beats... phenomenal.
Sounds ("for example, here's a telephone ring!") untouchable.
Commercial success... not even close.
BTW I'd add Rahzel to your list... he's pretty good too.
