Since each one of you decided to enroll in an online class, I'm assuming that you have a basic familiarity with the Internet. I'm also assuming that you enjoy spending time "surfing" the net and that you find it a useful (and fun) tool.

In this team assignment, I would like you to write a paragraph about your favorite web site. It can be any (as long as it's not x-rated!) type of web site: entertainment, news, educational, political, shopping, et cetera. In your paragraph, try to answer the following questions: Why is this site valuable? What types of people visit this site? Why is this site appealing? How does this web site keep its visitors coming back for more?

Personally I think two of the smartest sites they have put up are the wikipedia which you can find out almost anything you ever want to know and the other is www.imdb. It is a movie database that also allows you to put in any character from a show or movie or just stars in the media and you can find out everything they have been in- details about the person. I would do it on either one of these sites if it was left up to me, but you have to do a site that has been useful to you and not other people. This shouldn't be hard considering the millions of sites out there. We will never get to them all in our lifetime.

I'll bite. I run the website www.portsmouth-island.com. It is an educational and tourism website dedicated to the now-abandoned Portsmouth Village in NC. It is valuable because it tells the village's history as well as documents restoration progress, and informs visitors to the island what to bring and what to expect. The people that visit my site tend to be people over 40 who have either been to the island or are considering going. They like it because it is easy to load and easy to navigate. They come back for more because of the annual updates, or because it tells as many stories as possible of the people who lived there.

Well, you've come to the right place. Yahoo answers is a great site to use for such an assignment.
