I'm not scared of regular clowns, but I can say that Pennywise from IT, the clown doll from Poltergeist and Killer Clowns from Outer Space are pretty freaky and do give me the creeps. I also don't like creepy looking marionettes, used to have dreams about them attacking me in my basement when I was a little girl.

I'm not scared of them, but I think they are majorly creepy. I can't really explain why though... maybe it's the weird face paint. Plus the fact that they make really scary killer clown Halloween costumes doesn't help.

For me it's flashing lights that familiar humming sound, my hair standing on end and heights from free floating in the air 20 feet up. Do clowns have space ships?

I'd swear I saw a question about this a long time ago! I may even have answered it. I'm not scared of them but they make me feel creepy & always have. No psychological reason. Hmmm--there was something about ice cream wagons, too. If I can find it, I'll come back & edit. You are definitely not alone!

My daughter is also scared of clowns.
I find them somewhat strange, the way they are painted, it's like a mask covering the face of someone, who has identity problems or worse issues, like John Wayne Casey!!
Sinister!

You could call the Maury show, they sometimes do shows on curing people of their phobias...

I understand. I think it's because they are behind a mask, so you don't know who they really are.
