Both George W. Bush and Joseph Lieberman are conservative. The difference between Bush and Lieberman is that Bush is a Christian Conservative and Lieberman is a Conservative Democrat.

Neither is a Conservative by any measure, but Bush is by far the the most dangerous. One need only study the history of the Modern Conservative Movement to see that they have abandoned every Conservative principle. He and his neo-con (a movement founded in Troskyite principles) handlers have openly assaulted the Constitution and our major institutions, engaged in redistribution of wealth for the benefit of one segment of society, purposely diminished our national sovereignty, weakened our defensive posture and subjected our economy to foreign manipulation. He supports and makes concessions to our sworn enemies (including Communist China) while alienating our traditional allies. The list goes on and on and on.

As children in the "duck and cover" era, we were regularly regaled with horror stories of a far away place where people were taken in the night and never heard from again, kangaroo courts where defendants were afforded no rights (habeus corpus, defence lawyers, statement of specific charges, public trial), citizens having to produce documents on demand, warrantless searches, domestic spying, state interference in the private life of citizens, etc.. It was also a place that invaded sovereign nations that posed them no threat, claiming that it was for the good of the people of those countries and the "promotion of democracy." We were told that we had a patriotic duty to stop the spread of this evil throughout the world and particularly to insure against it gaining a foothold here. We were also told that those who were tolerant (let alone supportive) of the goals of that place were "subversives," "Liberals," "pinkos" or simply "reds." That was before Bush. Since Bush, the trip to get to that place is no farther than our own front door.

Lieberman is probably more liberal, but even so he's the only living democrat that I might consider voting for.

God Forbid , that either of them should call themselves liberal. They are both fanatics who want power, and more power and they really don't care what they do or who they do it to to get it. Thankfully, one is on his way out.
