Watching the NBA over the last couple of years, i have grown to hate flopping. BUT, I also notice if the guy DOESN'T flop, there is no OFFENSIVE FOUL. And also, players have realized that if they just run into a defender, they will get a bocking foul for a player trying to stay in front of him. So Lebron and Kobe and Wade are just driving to the hoop whether people are defending them or not and they get blocking fouls. Defenders realizing this start flopping but they are the only ones that get burned by fans and the media. Are they supposed to let them dribble by trying to avoid contact as ball handlers are trying to plow THROUGFH them? And if you were a PF and a SG runs into you and you stand your ground will they call a charge? NOPE cause you didnt flop, do referees swallow their whistles or do we T up floppers?

Both have to go, they both have and are ruining the game. They both keep players from playing real defense, they both depend on a ref to make the call. Only on the NBA level is where they don't allow contact, in college and international basketball, contact is allowed without it being a foul, which is the way it should be.

How about no calls on both blocking and floppers, that would stop teams from teaching their players to do both.

the blocking foul is a legitimate foul that should be called while a flop is not and if the flop is obvious it should result in a technical foul and on the 2nd flop expelled from the game.

good question. i think the refs should start making judgement calls. for example. if tony parker was driving and shaq got in his way and flopped. that was definitely acting. but if shaq was driving and parker tried to draw a charge. shaq would defintely knock him out. offensive foul. the nba players are paid to play not to act. i think the refs should T anyone who acts.
